Women of all ages understand quite remarkably what “beauty tips and tricks” means. It’s as plain as black and white. The only issue here is that there are literally hundreds and thousands of information in the cyber world that it’s overwhelming. Believe me, I know how it feels! I’ve done my own research over time and yes, the information is sometimes too much but never quite enough.
So let me share with you some of my tips –in increments of course. As we all know, “a little dab will do ya”!
1. It doesn’t matter whether you’re 16 or 60.
Acne has a way of showing up whenever it wants to show up. Even with proper skin care, we can’t really help it. Unless of course if your genetic disposition is close to perfection. But even then, everyone has had a zit problem at least once in their lifetime. And the very first temptation is to pop it, right?
I’m telling you now, DON’T POP YOUR ZITS! There is bacteria in there and popping it will only spread the bacteria in other parts of your skin. And scarring is a risk you don’t want to take.
And while you are quitting your zit zapping habit, give up man handling your face too. What this means is keep your hands away from your face.
Think of all the things you have touched today: your hair, your cell phone, bank machine, elevator button, bathroom door handle, and Starbucks counter top. Bacteria, Bacteria, Bacteria over your hands and now all over your face.
Wash your hands or make the effort to stop touching your face completely throughout the day.
2. So what do you have at home that can be your first aid to pimples? It’s usually found in the bathroom - your trustworthy toothpaste.
Oh, I can tell you that other than cleaning teeth, toothpaste has other uses. This is one of them.
Experts say that toothpaste draws impurities out of clogged pores, shrinks the pimple, and dries the skin.
Applying a small amount before bedtime and a warm water wash in the morning will work. If you can find organic toothpaste, it’s the better choice than gel based ones.
3. For wrinkle prevention (as well as acne), experts recommend ice cube massage.
Yep, you read it correctly. Massage your face with ice cube until the ice melts. Do a nightly routine before going to bed. This actually keeps acne, fat cells, and wrinkles regulated.
4. We’ve already covered this – oily skin means trouble!
It’s a woman’s bane, I tell you. Excess oil in the skin causes all kinds of unpleasant things like pimples, large pores, black heads and white heads and more.
A make-up cover up will do you no good. Don’t layer on powder as it will only make matters worse. What you need is to remove the excess oil and the best way to do it is with oil blotting paper. There are lots of products in beauty bars near you. Get on that is most compatible with your skin.
5. There are things in our life that is a must – rain or shine. Applying sunscreen every day is one of them!
We are already aware how harmful UV rays can be to the skin. Just because the sun is hiding behind a cloud doesn’t mean we don’t get the “sting”. Experts say that only 20% of UV light is filtered by the clouds. The rest falls unhindered to Earth. And we the inhabitants are in target all the time.
The list is short, I know. But start with these, along with a healthy lifestyle and you will positively have better skin. A word of advice again, when trying on products, it is best to consult with an expert or a medical professional especially for women who have existing conditions like skin allergies.
Until Next Time!
