If you are one of those people who like to follow quotes on-line, then you probably get thankfulness reminders practically daily. I’m sure upon reading quotes or stories, you pause and reflect on things you are thankful for. And then move on.
But being thankful shouldn’t be just for a moment. Being thankful is a state of BE-ING and something integrated or branded into your whole state of consciousness and or DNA.
Genuine thankfulness can enhance, heck, even turn your life around and influence those around you to something much better.
To turn grim conditions to better circumstances, you need to have a routine. And you need to focus. Ponder, or really think about what you are grateful for.
Or as I like to say...
When you have that mind/body connection, I believe you get far better results.

Since personal development is a never ending process, to secure the benefits of gratitude you must practice it regularly. Every new day brings a fresh start.
Start your day by recognizing the things you are grateful for and taking note of them.
I start off with the most innocuous of things... such as thankful for my cozy bed; thankful for being able to get out of bed; thankful for all my life lessons. And I am thankful for the not so innocuous such as my perfect brain, perfect blood, perfect heart, perfect skin, perfect vision, and thankful for being able to hear my internal GPS.
Making a diary out of it works wonders. By adjusting our attention, it will gradually alter how we identify circumstances.
Write down specific circumstances and note down on how you felt at that time. The more you open your eyes to the world around you, the more you will augment your practice of being thankful.
NOTE: The habit of thankfulness should not get in the way of your day to day as personal development also means balance in other aspects of your life.
Find the right time to be thankful. Take a moment to look at your daily routine and see where you can schedule the time to get this in.
MAKE THE TIME
Taking time to reflect and be thankful means it TAKES TIME. Get your thankfulness routine in a time when you are relaxed and reflective.
Journaling not your thing?
Okay, so journaling in your diary isn’t always that exciting.
For most people, it can be boring after some time. You can find other ways to note down your “thankfulness moments”. There are actually hundreds of avenues you can explore, from blogging (though it’s still writing but in a different and more fun medium!), to crafting, to photo diary, etc.
Personal development is also about finding what fits and excites you to become a better person.
Being thankful also means it will enliven your soul so if you feel the need for a change in medium, go for it!
My article habits for personal development —the “thankfulness” routine looks easy enough to follow, right? These steps are. But the hard thing about this is constancy and continuity.
Most of the time we falter in our efforts to personal development, and that’s okay. As long as you get back in there and don’t quit. Being thankful in a genuine way can meaningfully upsurge happiness and life fulfillment.
