Yellow, dark teeth are a tell-tale sign of aging. Have you ever seen a 20 year old with yellow, stained teeth?
Brightening up your smile is a sure-fire way to look and feel 10 years younger without breaking the bank. Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda will take you there.

The fastest way to have bright white teeth is to go to your dentist and ask for a whitening treatment.

Look and Feel 10 Years Younger Without Breaking the Bank Tip Number 3: Step Up and Step Into Style
Worn out, tired and out of style shoes are one of the fastest ways to make you look older instantly.
First things first. With your existing shoes, make sure they are scuff free and polished with new heels on the back of the shoe. There is nothing worse than the tip of the heel being worn off so that the metal post of the stiletto is scraping the sidewalk. And if you are wearing loafers, same thing. Except for the metal post.
If there are laces in your shoes, take them out, wash them and put them back in. Do this even for your tennis shoes.
As for updating your look, look to see what your daughter or younger friends are wearing. Grab the latest fashion magazines or take a walk-about in a shoe store and see what is trending. Then JUMP right in.
I remember when I bought my first pair of chunky heeled boots. A very painful process and took me a while to finally JUMP RIGHT IN as I am advising you to do. And I will admit, once I finally did, it took me a while to get used to them. After I got used to the new look, I was pleased as punch, especially when the compliments came rolling in.
The only reason I purchased them 25 years ago was because the sales lady told me that this one pair of boots would contemporize me instantly! OK. Sold. And it worked.
Not so sure about the new looks??
I get it. I understand. So, just start slowly.
Find a comparable shoe to the hottest style that is comfortable for you and is in sync with the fashion thermometer of the day. Eventually the new styles will grow on you. I promise!
A few pointers:
1. A heel will always be more attractive for the leg line. You don't have to go for the 6 inches that I like. 2 inches is a good start.
2. Platforms are another good choice because they give you height without the heel. More stable. So you will feel like you are walking on flats except you are high off the ground. At least that is the feeling I get!
3. If you really love flats, then go for a ballet type slipper instead of a shoe that covers the entire foot. The look is softer and more flattering to your foot, your leg and also to your entire look.
4. No cash? No problem. Go through your basement bag of old shoes that you have never gotten around to giving away and search for a style comparable to today's trend. Remember, what is old is new again. Or, go to a re-sale store and see what they have kicking around that could blend in for today’s looks.
Or, do what I did. I raided my 90 year old aunt's closet and found comparable shoes from the 40's, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s to supplement the current styles.
COST? Lots of love, lunches and lazy Sunday's reminiscing about great memories we had had together!
Look and Feel 10 Years Younger Without Breaking the Bank Tip Number 4: Lip action! Full luscious lips are an instant indicator of youth!
As we get older, our lips recede, giving us the appearance of thinner, smaller lips, making us look older. Our lips also get drier and the appearance of "smoker" or "raisin" lines start to appear on many of us.
So how can we tackle these lip issues that make us look older and turn them around to make us look and feel 10 years younger?
Let's start off with moisturizer.
Lips are naturally dry and get more so as we age. Use extra moisturizer on your lips at night and don’t forget to wear an SPF lip balm on your lips during the day on your lips to keep them soft.
All Terrain Lip Armour Lip Protection is one of my top picks. With an broad spectrum UVA and UVB SPF of 28, it protects naturally.
Dr. Lip Balm's Lip Freak is one of my favorites. It has a fun, tingly feel on your lips and is made with real ingredients. It might be my imagination, but I actually feel my lips plumping up after I use this lip balm! Must be the cinnamon! Lip oils are really getting some great press these days.
Beyond their moisturizing properties, they quadruple duty as an oil (which appear on the lips as a gloss) behave as a lip stain (Yves Saint Laurent), fulfill a fuller-looking pout (Clarins) and claim anti-aging benefits (Hourglass) without the oooie gooie sticky finish of most glosses.
Proper lining of your lips can also make you look and feel 10 years younger without breaking the bank.
Use one of your existing lip pencils to outline JUST the outer edge of your lip line, top and bottom. Your choice to fill them in afterwards with the lip pencil to help them look fuller. (Can't take it all away, now can I? At least not yet!)
The best pencils are ones that glide on effortlessly without tugging the lips. MAC pencils are good. Revlon is another great pencil at an affordable price. Choose a soft pink or pinky nude. Stay away from browns...and that includes my all time-favorite Spice. Follow with lip oil or a light shade of light reflecting lip gloss to give you a youthful glow.
And if you really want to go full throttle on the lips, use the DERMAWAND!
DermaWand was featured on the Dr. OZ show as one of the best alternatives to surgery for younger looking skin.
After applying your moisturizer, use your DermaWand in a circular upward motion on the border lines of your lips (top and bottom), plus the fleshy outer part as well as the inside of the lip.
Remember to push or lift your lips with your DermaWand in an upward motion.
If you have any fine vertical lines aka smokers lines that start at your upper lip line and go straight up to your nose, you can also use your DermaWand to plump up the area and help to minimize those pesky little lines. Remember to use in a circular, upward motion.

A thicker, well groomed brow can make you look more rested and better yet, can help you look and feel 10 years younger without breaking the bank.
Below are a couple of pointers I learned from the man behind the arches, Joey Healy, to get that instant 10 year younger look!
• Stop tweezing! Thicker brows mean a younger looking you.
• The highest point of the brow needs to be about two-thirds of the way out. Not in the middle of the brow.
• The tail of your eyebrow should extend to the corner of your eye, and can be even longer if it doesn’t end vertically lower than the point where your brow begins
Let me give you my best eyebrow tip ever!
How to give yourself the look of an instant forehead lift!
Directions: Take a fine eye shadow brush and dip into matte white powder. Take brush with powder and pat gently to apply the powder to the top outer side of your brow—from the outer top edge of brow nearest the center of the bridge of your nose to the outer end of the tail. This highlighting effect softens and opens your eyes at the same time giving you the look of just having a forehead lift!

Laughing can make you look younger.
Laughter helps release pent up stress that has been accumulating throughout your days, weeks and months. That in itself makes you look younger because you are not carrying around the weight of the world on your shoulders.
Laughter can also soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles that have built up on your face due to the stress you have been carrying.
Have you ever been in a crowd filled with laughter? People just look happier and that in itself makes them look younger.
And it that is not enough, clinical studies have been carried out where test subjects were asked to look at pictures of people who were laughing. The test subjects guessed the ages of the people laughing as much younger than their actual chronological age.
Did you know that it takes as many as 15-20 facial muscles to make you laugh? And just as the blood flows to your muscles in your body when you exercise, making them firm and strong, the same is true for the muscles in your face.
The increased blood flow floods your facial muscles while laughing giving you that plump, rosy glow helping you to look and feel 10 years younger. Not to mention look and feel 10 years healthier.
Clinical studies have also been done on laughter supporting the fact that laughter has a positive effect on emotional health, physical health and overall well-being.

I know, we have heard this so many times before, but water really is the fountain of youth. Drinking water is affordable, you don’t have to go anywhere to do it, you already know how to do it, and it works.
Hydrate. Drink Water. There are many reasons to drink water including increased concentration and focus, weight loss, more energy, easing of depression and yes, beautiful skin.
There is also science to support why we need water. Studies have shown that drinking 8oz of water enhances the flow of information between brain cells, improving focus and memory by 34 percent.
The first thing I do when I wake up is to drink a big glass of room temperature water with a squeeze of lemon. Both are great to help detoxing, alkalizing the body and getting all our bodily functions MOVING.
Also, when we are hydrated, our skin is noticeably plumper, feels fuller and firmer plus looks healthy and glowing.
After my first glass of water, it just feels like my bones, joints and my brain are working better. I stand taller, move quicker and I think better! At least I think so! Another good reason to drink that water!

I used to like these aggressive exfoliators, now I just find they are too rough on my skin. I am older, my skin wants a little TLC I guess.

Getting a good 7-8 hours—another freebie— of uninterrupted sleep is one of my favorites within my Top 10 ways to look and feel years 10 younger without breaking the bank.
Sleeping is also one of the simplest ways to rejuvenate your soul and start feeling alive again.
Not to mention mentally focused and emotionally grounded.
Not getting enough sleep is also one of the things that ages you the fastest.
When you don’t get enough sleep, your body releases more of the stress hormone cortisol. When cortisol is present in high enough amounts it can break down the collagen in your body. As a reminder, collagen is the protein that keeps your skin smooth and elastic.
As an aside, if you are having trouble losing weight or keeping it off, check your sleeping patterns and how many hours of sleep you are getting. Cortisol produced by of sleep also could be the culprit!
Need help sleeping?
No TV or internet 2 hours before bed. A constant bombardment of electricity from smart phones and computers interrupts your sleep cycles and makes it harder to go to sleep.
Also, if you have a TV in your bedroom, please make sure to either close the doors of the hutch that houses it or cover the boob tube with a blanket or towel. The TV still emits an electronic frequency and light that can interfere with your sleep patterns.
Speaking of which, blue light from computers, TV's and smart phones and tablets are big culprits that prevent you from having a good nights sleep. To counter this, there are now new eyeglass lenses that block harmful blue light and UV rays.
Sleeping in a cool dark room is the perfect climate for a good nights sleep. So is a sleeping mask which can give you black out curtain benefits.
When I worked overnights at HSN, I had a heck of a time getting to sleep at 10 in the morning. A sleeping mask was the trick that helped me sleep when everyone else was starting their day.
Top off your evening with some Chamomile tea or Valerian drops under your tongue and you are minutes away from some of your sweetest slumbers.
Look and Feel 10 Years Younger Without Breaking the Bank Tip Number 10: Rapunzel, Rapunzel, Grow Your Hair!
Long hair is a sign of youth and it costs nothing to grow your hair.
It’s ok to have hair to your chin or past your shoulders. At any age. I really don't care about the laws or the shoulds or shouldn'ts about hair length when we get older. Longer hair makes you look younger.
Talk to your hairdresser about creating a long style that is suitable for your face or which you can grow into.
Or, you can do what I did. Just let your hair grow.
Throw it in a loose ponytail and wait until it gets long. Don’t cut it till you want to.
VERY IMPORTANT: hair pulled too tightly off the forehead into a ponytail can break fine delicate hair. Or worse, accentuate a receding hair line.
How do I know? It happened to me.
How to avoid? Wear your hair down and mix it up with styling your ponytail loose and off to the side of your face near your ear.
If you have the need for speed, try extensions. Halo, which offers not only tried and true clip on hair extensions but also their signature "no glue, no clips, not tape, just halo" SLIP ON'S is one of your best bets.

Liking the exercise you are doing will help you keep on your program.
Find some activity that you enjoy doing and do it for at least 30 minutes three times each week.
Good news is studies now show that you can break exercise up into chunks of 5, 7 and 10 minute intervals throughout the day to receive benefits.
High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), a form of short burst of high intensity cardio and strength training, is a type of program where you work out for a short period of time, such as 30-45 seconds, raising your heart rate, and then change the exercise to slow down your heart rate has promising benefits. HIIT touts fat burning as well as muscle building as part of its whole body benefits.

Walking is my other exercise of choice. Good news, walking is free, easy on the joints and you can do it anywhere and anytime. Winter in the northern states and summer in the southern states.
Head out to the indoor mall and walk both the top and lower levels as you check out the latest fashion. Walk around your house, up and down the stairs. Any movement is better than no movement. An obvious bonus to exercise—keeps your waistline in line.
