How to Get Beautiful, Bouncy Hair at Any Age*

December 7, 2016

Our bodies (and our hair!) can go through a lot as we age —and not all of the stress is caused by the normal wear and tear of the passing years! Whether we color our hair, don’t keep it trimmed as well as we should or simply like to use harsh styling products, our hair can lose a great deal of its healthy looking bounce as we age. Wouldn’t it be great to know that there are simply tips that you can use to maintain beautiful, bouncy hair at any age?

I agree —so I’m going to share some secret tips with you! These are all things that I’ve learned after a great deal of research and through my extensive work in the beauty industry. You won’t find these insider tips pulled together anywhere else, but I wanted to share them with you since you are so special to me!

Homemade Conditioner

Conditioning your hair is one of the best-known ways to really drive up the shine value, but why pay tons of money and wonder what you’re putting on your skin and in your hair when you can use simple and natural ingredients and get a better result? You really will be shocked at how great your hair looks after trying this simple conditioner.

Egg and Olive Oil Conditioner. Whether your Mom put mayo on your hair and wrapped it up as a conditioner when you were younger or not, the high fat content of this option should tell you that your hair will be soaking up the wonderfulness!

Break 2 eggs and separate the whites from the yolks, keeping the whites for other uses. Add 3 teaspoons of cold-pressed olive oil to the egg yolks and mix them gently together.

Apply to your hair with a flat brush starting at the roots, and leave the mixture on your hair for at least 30 minutes.

Do a quick wash and cold rinse afterwards to get rid of any lingering egg smell and to smooth down your cuticles.

Take a Load Off

Removing that extra dead layer of hair from the ends can make a massive difference on the bouncy factor of your hair. You don’t have to trim off a ton of hair if you’re trying to grow it out, but even a little clip can help keep the dead ends from weighing down your beautiful locks.

Bring on the Shine

Believe it or not, natural oils can do wonders for your hair! Whether you go an extra day on the weekend without washing your hair, cut down on the hot water which rinses away the oils, or add a slick of oil in a different way such as an almond oil rinse or other oil-based moisturizer, oils are a way to add back the natural shine that daily life, heating and processing can dull.

Get Juicing!

Lemon juice is another natural shine and bounce agent that you can easily incorporate into your beauty regimen. This simple solution works best when you massage a few drops of lemon juice into your scalp with a firm massaging motion. The rich Vitamins A, B and C can help keep your hair silky and bouncy.

Beautiful hair doesn’t have to end at 20, 30, 40 . . . or even 80! Follow these simple steps and you’ll find yourself with hair more beautiful than ever, and the signs of aging on the way to being reversed.

Until Next Time,
